Round the Bend Farm- a working family farm

Round the Bend Farm is a working family farm. We sell fresh, naturally grown turkeys, as well as seasonal fruits, vegetables  and flowers. We have been in continuous operation since 1986. We cordially invite you to come visit us, in season, and bring the family.

Winter Market Hours--Fridays 12 noon to 6 pm

It is hard to believe that the Fall season is over!  Our regular season is over and we have returned to our winter hours.

As long as we are able to, we will be harvesting fresh vegetables from the fields and we are busy putting it into storage for the winter as well.  What can you expect to find in our market? We will have apples, cabbages, potatoes, tomatoes, leeks, carrots, beets, celeriac root, parsnips and lots of varieties of squash.  We also have fresh eggs, honey, jams, pies and turkey products and Kawartha Dairy ice cream.

YEAH SPRING!

So it looks like March came in like a lamb, so technically it should be going out like a lion and then April showers will bring May flowers! How's that for using all the old sayings up!

Easter is late this year, not showing up until April 15th, and yes, we will be having our Easter Egg Hunt and Activities on the Saturday.  New this year will be a wagon ride and bbq.  Come on out and have some fun!

Right now, we are busy in the barn with babies being born and we are busy in the greenhouses seeding, planting, weeding and getting ready for Spring.  Can't wait until May when there should be the first of the asparagus ready and June when the greenhouses are brimming with fresh lettuce, beets, kohlrabi, carrots and many more vegetables.

Registration for our summer CSA program is now open, time to get your name on the list and look forward to 22 weeks of fresh vegetables and fruits.

Welcome Spring!

For the kids, there are downloadable colouring images.

Farming is a lot of very hard, dirty and non-ending work but we still enjoy what we do and we love to share our experiences with others.
