June -July

So what are we doing right now? We are praying for dry weather, sunshine and wind to dry up the land and help the plants grow and thrive--it has been wet since May and we desperately need a change in the weather in order for the field crops to grow.  It is so wet we can not step foot in the fields.

We are continuing to seed, weed, hoe, and harvest, the crops that are ready in the greenhouses and the high places in the fields.  And it seems like the asparagus and lettuces are loving this cooler summer weather.

July is fresh Ontario produce month, the best time to eat local!! So here's hoping for summer weather and a good, long, dry spell to bring on all those wonderful vegetables we are trying to grow in the fields.

Take a look at our Photo Gallery on what it takes for us to grow a pumpkin or some of flower arrangements.

For the kids, there are downloadable colouring images.

Farming is a lot of very hard, dirty and non-ending work but we still enjoy what we do and we love to share our experiences with others.
